Join a small group of dedicated multi-disciplinary professionals as we move forward together from a basic to advance understanding of the DIR/Floortime model. BEGINNING FLOORTIME™ Parts 1 and 2:
The ICDL 12th Annual International Conference, "Redefining the Potential for Emotional and Social Functioning in Children with Autism and Special Needs;" November 7, 8 & 9, 2008. Hilton McLean, Tyson's Corner, Virginia (Washington DC metro area).
This annual conference hosts international specialists in the area of autism and children with special needs and this year's focus will be on new resarch and bioethical issues in treatment. With Rebecca Shahmoon Shanok, Psy.D, Lisa deFaria will be offering a two-part overview and introduction to the DIR® Model, with a focus on the role of parents, on Friday, 11/7 from 2:30 to 5 pm. STUDY & CASE CONSULTATION GROUP FORMING:
If you live in Central/Northern California, Lisa deFaria, LCSW and Yana Peleg, PhD are starting a regional "study group," welcoming new and experienced DIR® and Floortime™ professionals from San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties (and beyond, if you can make the drive!). Group participation count towards the required hours needed for eligibility for certification in the DIR model. Dates, times and cost to be announced.
