New Client Information
Thank you for your interest in therapeutic services!  Please feel free to call or email me for more specific information, however please find some basics as follows:
OFFICE LOCATION:  20952 Cindy CT NE, Poulsbo, WA 98110

AVAILABILITY:  I am currently accepting a limited number of new clients.  Because after-school/work hours are in high demand, I am more likely to be able to see you or your child if you have some flexibility and are able to meet earlier in the day.
PAYMENT:  If you are out-of-network, plan to pay in full at the time of service.  In-network clientele are required to pay their copay at the time services are rendered.   I accept local personal checks, cash, or credit cards.
I am an "in-network" provider with PREMERA BLUE CROSS, REGENCE & AETNA insurance only in my private practice.
*IMPORTANT - I DO NOT PRE-CHECK YOUR BENEFITS FOR YOU!  It is the client's responsibility to verify your "Behavioral/Mental Health" benefits IN ADVANCE of our first appointment. Be sure you are aware if you have a deductible to meet and what your co-pay will be.
*Insurance companies may want my NPI number to confirm benefits. It is: 1609883537. They may also want my address info:  20952 Cindy CT NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370
OUT-OF NETWORK BENEFITS:  If you are not with PREMERA, Regence or Aetna, you may want to check with your insurance in ADVANCE to determine if you have any coverage for an "out-of-network" behavioral/mental health provider. Your payment for each session will be due in full at the time of service. However, I will provide you with a HICFA claim form for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
INTAKE PAPERWORK: Once we schedule your first appointment, I will send you the INTAKE PACKET for you to fill out, sign, and return 24-hours before we meet.  You will also need to provide a copy of your insurance card, front and back, and a copy of the front of your driver's license.
FIRST VISIT: We start with an initial 50-minute INTAKE session at my office or via teletherapy. If you are a parent seeking therapy for your child - please note the first meeting is for parents only.  My preference is that both parents be present if at all possible.  Further visits typically run 45+ minutes.
LENGTH OF THERAPY: This is highly individual and difficult to predict, and depends on your concerns and goals.  Please know, there are few "quick fixes," in therapy.  However, "Short-Term" treatment may be an option when there are single solution-focused goals and typically lasts 4-8 weeks.  For more complex issues, longer-term therapeutic work may be necessary.  We will discuss this as we go.
MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS:  While I will do my best to provide service for an urgent situation, I am not able to provide emergency or after-hours mental health services in a crisis. Clients are advised to call 911 and/or go to the nearest emergency room.
If safe to do so, parents are advised to transport the child to SEATTLE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL'S Emergency Room, rather than local hospitals that may be unable to appropriately assess your child's psychological needs and level of risk.
                                                           Thank you for your understanding!
